Can one eat meat and chicken and get a haircut on the Sunday after the fast? Thank you very much.
Answer
Hello, Eating meat and drinking wine - According to the Sephardic custom, it is proper to refrain until the night after the tenth of Av (Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim 558, Chazon Ovadia Arba Taaniyot page 413), and according to the Ashkenazi custom, one should refrain until midday of the tenth of Av (Rema there). Listening to music - According to the Sephardic custom, it is proper to refrain until the night after the tenth of Av (see Maamar Mordechai - Piskei HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l on the holidays chapter 29 section 5, and Mishnah Berurah, Ish Matzliach 558 note 3), and according to the Ashkenazi custom, one should refrain until midday of the tenth of Av (see Mishnah Berurah section 562). Showering, haircuts, and laundry - According to the Sephardic custom, it is permitted immediately after Tisha B'Av (Chazon Ovadia Arba Taaniyot page 415), and according to the Ashkenazi custom, one should be stringent until midday of the tenth of Av (Mishnah Berurah section 563).
