Question

I wanted to know on which days Tikkun Chatzot is not recited at all, and on which days only Tikkun Leah is recited?

I greatly appreciate your holy work

Answer

Good week,

The days on which Tikkun Chatzot is not recited at all are: Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, the festival days of Pesach, Chol HaMoed Pesach, the festival of Shavuot, the festival of Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, and in the diaspora on every second festival day of the diaspora.

The days when Tikkun Rachel is not recited and only Tikkun Leah is recited are: the days following the new moon prior to Rosh Chodesh (even though one confesses during them), Chol HaMoed Sukkot, the weekdays of the Ten Days of Repentance, the weekdays of the Counting of the Omer, the Shemitah year in the Land of Israel (but in the diaspora Tikkun Rachel is recited), as well as on Rosh Chodesh and other days that do not fall on them. Tikkun Rachel is also not recited in the house of the groom or in the house of mourning. Additionally, the father of the boy, the mohel, and the sandek during the night of the circumcision should not recite Tikkun Rachel (Clear Halacha, Siman 1, Seifim 8-9).

With blessings,

Hillel Meirz
