Cutting Nails at Night
Question
Hello and greetings,
Is it permitted to cut nails at night?
Thank you very much
Answer
Greetings,
Some refrain from cutting nails at night based on Kabbalah, however, according to halacha, it is permissible, and even according to Kabbalah, many hold that there is no concern in doing so.
Sources: Refer to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef zt"l in the responsa Yabia Omer part 4 (section 20). Also see in the responsa VeYashiv HaYam part 3 (section 16), in the responsa Shevet HaKehati part 6 (section 586), in the responsa Yitzhak Yiranen part 2 (section 15), and in the book Yisrael VeHazmanim part 1 (section 17, paragraphs 14-15).
Best regards,
