Dream About Pregnancy
Questions about Judaism, Dreams, and Pregnancy
Question
Hello, yesterday I had a very strange dream that is hard for me to forget, especially since I had a similar dream in the past. In the dream, I am pregnant, in the fifth month, and this is my first pregnancy. In the dream, I have nausea and all the symptoms of pregnancy, and everyone knows I'm pregnant, but something very strange is happening to my body. I know I'm pregnant, I can feel the fetus and its heartbeat, but the belly does not grow; it remains flat as it is, and I am happy in the dream but also very worried and confused. In the past, I dreamed that I was sitting on a bench holding a beautiful baby girl. I remember every little detail about this baby. I was sitting with her and the guy I love, and in the dream, we were already married (and in reality, we are no longer in contact). Sorry for the length, but this dream is very troubling to me. I would appreciate it if you could tell me what a dream about pregnancy or babies symbolizes? Thank you very much, Yaffa.
Answer
Hello and blessings, A dream about pregnancy generally hints at a certain spiritual or material elevation that will come soon or later. With blessings, Binyamin Shmueli The most we can do to help the dream come true is to go to the synagogue during the Shacharit prayer, and at the time when the kohanim lift their hands in the Priestly Blessing, say this prayer with intent: "Ruler of the World, I am Yours and my dreams are Yours. I dreamed a dream and I do not know what it is. May it be Your will, Hashem my God and God of my ancestors, that all my dreams about myself and about others, and others' dreams about me, should be for good. If they are good, strengthen and fortify them like the dreams of Joseph the Righteous. If they need healing, heal them like Hezekiah, King of Judah from his illness, like Miriam the Prophetess from her leprosy, and Naaman from his leprosy, like the waters of Marah through Moses our teacher, and like the waters of Jericho through Elisha. Just as You turned the curse of the wicked Balaam from a curse to a blessing, so please turn all my dreams about me and all of Israel to good, keep me, be gracious to me, and favor me. Amen."
