Archaeological discoveries

The epic tale of David versus Goliath is vividly recounted in the Book of Samuel. Young David, who would later become King David, defeats Goliath of Gath in the Valley of Elah. According to Aaron Demsky, names similar to Goliath have been found on inscriptions from the time of King David, on artifacts uncovered in the Philistine city of Gath.

After being closed for three years, the Davidson Center has reopened, revealing sensational historical discoveries, including a rare coin from the Second Temple era.
