Bar Kochba

In the month of Shevat, on a historic date marking a heroic mission, 12 families embarked on settling Bar Kochba, bridging Gush Etzion with Jerusalem. With dreams of establishing a strategic link, the Neve Uri farm had paved the way. Racheli Tal and Hadas Stern share the inspiring journey of realizing a dream.

During a remarkable operation led by the Israel Antiquities Authority in the cliffs of the Judean Desert, thrilling discoveries from the Bar Kochba revolt era were unveiled. Among these: parchment fragments featuring verses from the books of Zechariah and Nahum, and a rare coin hoard with Jewish symbols.

A bronze coin from the time of the Bar Kochba revolt was found at the foot of the Temple Mount near the City of David. This is the only coin with the inscription "Jerusalem" found in ancient Jerusalem.
