Laws of Niddah

Understanding and Observing the Laws of Family Purity

AA

Question

Hello, I am 26 years old, married with one child, and we recently decided to become more observant (mainly thanks to the Hidabroot channel). We decided to also observe the laws of niddah. I would appreciate it if you could send me the laws of niddah and how this is implemented. Thank you in advance, and happy holidays.

Answer

Hello and blessings. I will briefly convey all the laws as required for you at the beginning of this journey. With Hashem's help, as you progress, I will be happy to assist with any questions that may arise. Over time, you will become accustomed and see that things are simple and not complicated at all. I have also attached my phone number where you can ask anything that is unclear. Young couples who are about to get married need appropriate explanations and guidance to prepare them for observing the laws of family purity in their home. The nature of this mitzvah is that it is kept discreetly, and even those who are meticulous in its observance do not talk about it publicly. This is the reason why most concepts related to observing family purity are unknown to the couple or known in a distorted manner. Furthermore, they were not educated for observing these laws from their childhood, as they are accustomed to keeping other mitzvot such as kashrut. Niddah laws are many and complex due to the special and different situations present for each woman. Here is only a summary of these laws, and the couple may, in certain cases, need the guidance of a rabbi. Couples should know that the rabbis of Israel have deep understanding of their problems and individual difficulties in observing all the laws of intimacy, and every rabbi is accustomed to ruling on these questions and will always be ready to help with advice, guidance, and a halachic ruling. It is important to emphasize that observing the laws of niddah properly is impossible unless the woman is not embarrassed to consult with her husband on any doubt, any uncertain examination, any stain, etc., as will be explained later on, and to refer the question to a rabbi through her husband, or through the rebbetzin.
