Do we say Tachanun on Yom Yerushalayim?
Question
Hello, I wanted to ask if on Yom Yerushalayim we say Tachanun like on Yom Ha'atzmaut? The siddur does not list Yom Yerushalayim among the days when Tachanun is not said. How is it regarded today? Is it a 'new' day like Yom Ha'atzmaut where the Torah world says Tachanun as usual? Is the opinion of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef z"l known on this matter? Thank you.
Answer
Hello, there are different opinions on this matter, and in any case, the opinion of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef z"l is that Tachanun is not said on Yom Yerushalayim (Yabia Omer, Part 7, Siman 81, note 6). Blessings, Hillel Meirs.
