Question

Can you send me the vocalized prayer recited when the baby cries during a brit milah? Thank you.

Answer

Hello, In the book "Samachti B'Yeshuatecha" (page 345), a prayer text is provided to say when the child cries during the brit milah: "May it be Your will, Hashem, our God and the God of our ancestors, that we and our family be healthy and strong in livelihood and success, peace, and all good, to serve You in truth and with joy. Let my prayer be combined with the cry of the child, and may I fulfill the verse 'Hashem heard my supplication, Hashem will accept my prayer.' May Hashem fulfill all the desires of our hearts for the good. Amen." Afterwards, recite Psalm 6: "For the leader; with stringed instruments, on the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. Hashem, do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor discipline me in Your wrath. Be gracious to me, Hashem, for I am feeble; heal me, Hashem, for my bones are terrified. My soul is also greatly terrified; and You, Hashem, - how long? Return, Hashem, rescue my soul; save me for Your kindness's sake. In death there is no mention of You; in Sheol who will thank You? I am weary with my groaning; every night I make my bed swim; with my tears, I dissolve my couch. My eye wastes away because of grief; it becomes old because of all my adversaries. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; for Hashem has heard the voice of my weeping. Hashem has heard my supplication; Hashem accepts my prayer. Let all my enemies be ashamed and terrified; let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly." Good tidings, Hallel Meirish. Brit milah - one of the wondrous commandments.
