"It's wise to get into the habit of eating morning bread," and those who do are spared many ailments.

When we talk about eating morning bread, it doesn’t strictly mean bread. It can be any nutritious food that benefits the body - food that builds cells and generates energy.

Breakfast is crucial for health, helps in muscle building, assists in preventing obesity, enhances focus and cognitive abilities, increases alertness, and even elevates mood.

It also impacts bone strength. Overnight fasting leads to bone breakdown, whereas breakfast stops this and aids in building. Studies found that there’s a hormone released in the gut. During the night, its level drops, but soon after eating in the morning, following a nightly fast, the hormone level rises, which supports bone building.

The Rambam advised years ago to eat breakfast like royalty.

We need to listen to our body's signals, but today we've disrupted our hunger and fullness mechanisms. Some don't feel hungry in the morning, some can’t eat at all in the morning, while for others, breakfast helps in feeling full throughout the day.

Those unable to eat in the morning have disrupted these mechanisms and should gradually regain the feeling by starting with something small, like a fruit or a nut or any other nutritious choice. Breakfast after a night’s sleep is the body’s initial energy intake, providing the kickstart needed for a lively day. Those who eat right will concentrate better, especially growing children. After a night’s sleep, the body particularly needs to receive vitamins and minerals.

It's important for both kids and adults to consume healthy food in the morning, not empty carbs with sugar and saturated fats like biscuits. A meal based on cookies and sugars won't supply the necessities, will awaken appetite, and cause restlessness.

Breakfasting on fruit, dates, or even a slice of bread with a healthy spread is the way to begin the day right.

A solid breakfast prevents hunger. Unrestrained eating in the afternoon and evening, the sensation of hunger, and snacking in the evening all result from the body not receiving what it needs and trying to compensate.

It’s important to have breakfast within two hours of waking up.
