#VALUE!
Isaac Bentov was a brilliant scientist and inventor who served in the Israeli Defense Forces' Science Corps and developed the first missile for Israel's defense industry. Later, he specialized in biomedical engineering and was a pioneer in the development of catheterization. From there, he transitioned to the study of human consciousness, making significant discoveries that suggest the existence of the soul. In 1977, he published a book on the subject, but unfortunately, he died in a plane crash in 1979, and his research did not continue.
However, his book and various articles he wrote present a very intriguing picture. Bentov argued that the human consciousness, the experience of thoughts and emotions, cannot be merely the result of electrical or biological processes. Scientifically, he claimed there's something beyond in the human soul.
Bentov suggested that according to quantum theory, consciousness is more akin to energy than to matter and can theoretically expand and interact with hidden layers of reality that a regular person does not reach. He built upon the idea of consciousness until he concluded that the world itself is necessarily built on consciousness linking its parts. This idea has a counterpart among our sages of old (known as the "active intellect"), and some argue it has parallels in the Kabbalistic teachings described in the Zohar.
According to this theory, we live in a holographic universe, meaning all information is present everywhere simultaneously. The human soul might be connected to wisdom already available, and as it refines itself, it can understand and grasp more of the wisdom inherent in the world. All of reality also draws from the same abstract wisdom, from which the laws of nature emanate.
These ideas also serve as a foundation for attempts to formulate physical theories that explain the fragmented information we have about the nature of matter and the universe. Renowned physicists are also engaged in this. Theoretical nuclear physicist Dr. Amit Goswami from the University of Oregon states that "consciousness is the ground of all being." He believes the universe is self-aware and that consciousness creates the physical world.
Of course, we do not derive our concepts of Kabbalah from philosophers worldwide, but it suffices to show that all the profound ideas we've learned from our sources also have a solid and faithful scientific and philosophical basis.
