Kirstjen Michele Nielsen, serving as the American Secretary of Homeland Security, visited the Western Wall this week and was seen praying privately for several minutes.
Kirstjen has been part of Donald Trump's administration since September 2017, initially as Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, under John Kelly. She was appointed as Secretary of Homeland Security in December 2017, after her nomination was confirmed by the Senate with a vote of 62 to 37.
After finishing her prayers, Kirstjen continued her tour of the Western Wall tunnels, accompanied by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the Rabbi of the Western Wall, and Mordechai Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
At the conclusion of the tour, the American Secretary took the guest book from the site and wrote within its pages: 'May Hashem bless us all. May we always remember your name, and always act in love, with your guidance. Thank you for everything you have given your children.'
