1. The World’s Longest Limousine
A regular limousine is already pretty long, but one limo in Burbank, California, holds the world record. It’s 100 feet long and has 26 wheels! This super-stretch limo isn’t allowed on regular roads. It’s only used for special shows and events and gets moved in two separate parts by truck. Inside, it even has a swimming pool with a diving board and a helipad on top!
2. The Mop Dog: Meet the Komondor
The Komondor, also called the Hungarian Sheepdog, is a large, strong dog with long, cord-like fur that looks just like a mop. Its thick coat helps it blend in with sheep, which makes it perfect for guarding flocks or property. It may look cuddly, but it’s also brave and protective.
3. Where Did the Sea Urchins Go?
Sea urchins, those spiky creatures in the sea, are disappearing from the Mediterranean coast. One big reason is global warming. As the sea gets warmer by as much as 3 degrees Celsius, it becomes harder for sea urchins to survive and grow in their usual homes.
4. The Beauty of China’s Rice Terraces
In the mountains of China, farmers created giant steps along the hillsides to grow rice. These are called the Longsheng Rice Terraces. They’re not only smart and useful, but also incredibly beautiful to look at. This clever farming method makes it possible to grow food even where the land is steep and rocky.
5. A Sea Creature That Drinks Blood
The lamprey is a strange, eel-like creature that lives in lakes and oceans. It doesn’t have scales and can grow up to three feet long. What makes it unusual is its mouth, it’s shaped like a funnel with lots of tiny teeth. Lampreys use it to attach to fish and suck their blood. Don’t worry, they rarely bother people unless they’re really hungry!
Even the strangest things in our world can be full of surprises and sometimes, even a little bit of wonder.
