#VALUE!
In a rather unusual divorce petition recently filed in New Delhi, a woman claimed she wanted to divorce her husband because he is "too good to me and never argues with me."
The woman, a young 30-year-old married for a year and a half, testified that her husband "never argues or fights with me. Life with him is too boring. Too much love and attention become dull," she explains.
The court officials were, to say the least, stunned.
"We have never encountered a case like this," they remarked. "Why would someone want to divorce such a loving and giving husband?"
She insisted that life with such a person is tedious and claimed she "feels suffocated in an environment where no one ever says no to me."
When asked if she wanted to come to court over a violent conflict, as is usually the case with couples seeking divorce, the young woman said, "I wouldn't want that either, but I would like to argue a bit. He never yells at me, never disappoints me. Sometimes it's good to have a little fight, that's how it should be between a husband and wife."
Her husband, on the other hand, was baffled by the uproar. "I tried to be a good husband and meant well," he said during the court hearing. "I can't change myself. This is who I am."
