A Miracle at Shabbat: The Baba Sali and the Young Girl's Awakening

Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman of Migdal HaEmek shared on the 'Story of a Nation' program on Channel 20 about a chilling miracle involving the Baba Sali, which he witnessed.

Rabbi Grossman spoke of the daughter of Rabbi Menashe Stern from England, who was in a life-threatening condition after falling from the fourth floor: 'There was a Jewish man from England very close to the Baba Sali, named Rabbi Menashe Stern. Rabbi Stern, who passed away recently, was a great righteous man.'

'Rabbi Menashe Stern's daughter fell from the fourth floor and became comatose. After a week on Friday, the doctors told the family, "It’s over."'

Rabbi Grossman recounted how Rabbi Stern asked him to request the Baba Sali's prayers for his daughter's recovery: 'Rabbi Stern knew my brother and I were close to the Baba Sali, so he called me and pleaded for us to go to the Baba Sali to pray as the family was advised to say goodbye.'

Rabbi Grossman described how they arrived at the Baba Sali's house on Friday afternoon, ready for Shabbat: 'We came to the Baba Sali; it was Friday. He was prepared for Shabbat in a white robe, having finished reading the weekly Torah portion. Then he motioned with his hands, asking “What happened?” He knew something was wrong. We said, “Rabbi Menashe Stern called; his daughter fell.”'

Rabbi Grossman recounted the Baba Sali's prayer and the moment he declared it was answered: 'He closed the Chumash and began to pray. During his prayer, he murmured and bowed his head. Suddenly, he raised his head and clapped his hands: "The prayer is answered," he said in those words. The moment he said, "the prayer is answered," the girl opened her eyes. She grew up healthy and whole, and now she’s a grandmother.'
