If one built a temporary tent on Shabbat, is it forbidden to sit in its shade?
A temporary tent that was built unintentionally (by mistake) is permitted to be used on Shabbat itself since its prohibition is rabbinical. However, if the tent was erected deliberately, it is forbidden to benefit from it on that Shabbat.
Is it permissible to make a tent from blankets at home?
It is forbidden to make a tent on Shabbat from blankets in order to use the space beneath the blankets, even in a place where there is already a ceiling. [Yalkut Yosef Shabbat Vol. 2, page 530]. And if one did so, it is forbidden to dismantle it on Shabbat.
