Is it permissible to make a Mechitzah on Shabbat?

It is forbidden to make a Mechitzah on Shabbat that is a מחיצההמתרת, for example a Mechitzah that allows carrying from one domain to another or one that makes a Sukkah kosher. However, a Mechitzah that is not מתרת is allowed to begin with.

Based on the above, it is permissible to place a Mechitzah between men and women on Shabbat since this is not a Mechitzah המתרת, as the permissibility does not stem from the Mechitzah but rather from the covering.
