Is it permissible to wash the floor on Shabbat?
One should not wash the house floor even if it is tiled, as a precaution against washing an untiled floor, which might lead to leveling holes. However, spot cleaning in specific areas is permitted [Chazon Ovadia 4, 49].
Is it permissible to unclog a sink or toilet?
If the blockage is complete, it is not permitted to release the clog. However, if there is minimal water flow, it is permitted to open the blockage with a plunger [Chazon Ovadia 5, 331].
