In the bustling London neighborhood of Edgware, a local Jewish barber had successfully operated a popular barbershop for twenty years, notably staying open on Shabbat. Nearby stood a pharmacy owned by a Muslim man, frequented by many residents of the community.

After the horrific attacks on October 7th and the outbreak of the war with Hamas, local residents were shocked when the pharmacist publicly expressed support for Hamas on social media. Outrage quickly followed, prompting calls within the community to boycott the pharmacy entirely.

In the midst of the turmoil and anger, residents were astonished to discover a moving announcement from the Jewish barber himself.

A Powerful Statement of Unity

The barber released the following heartfelt statement:

"For twenty years, I have been supported by this community, and now I feel compelled to give something back. The least I can do in this challenging time is to close my shop on the coming Saturdays. Instead, the barbershop will open on Sundays during our usual hours."
