#VALUE!
It is forbidden to read text that appears under images of strange animals or events, even if only the name of the person or animal is written there, and certainly if a story is written. This prohibition applies even when not reading aloud but merely contemplating in one's heart, and even if one enjoys reading them, one should not be lenient. Regarding pictures of Torah scholars, one may be lenient [Shulchan Aruch 307, 15].
Is it permitted to read notices about selling sacred items?
It is permitted to read announcements about Torah classes and other Torah-related events, but other sales notices, even for sacred items, fall under the prohibition of reading secular documents. If no monetary amount is mentioned, one may be lenient [Yalkut Yosef Siman 307].
