Where Should Hotel Guests Light Shabbat Candles?
A guest staying at a hotel should light and recite the blessing over an electric light in their room, even the light in the bathroom. If this is not possible, they should stand near those lighting candles in the dining room without reciting a blessing, since one should not bless over additional light. Do not light candles in the room against hotel instructions [Yalkut Yosef 5771, p. 81].
