Who among us doesn't want to live a good and happy life? Everyone knows that one of the most important parameters on the way there is maintaining strong health—avoiding harmful foods and habits on one hand and adhering to positive habits that contribute to our health, on the other.

Dozens of studies conducted in recent years on the positive effects of the pomegranate and its products (such as pomegranate oil and juice) on our bodies have revealed a wide range of significant benefits such as supporting brain and memory health, preventing and treating muscle and joint inflammations, cleansing fats from the blood and liver, improving blood pressure indicators, and more.

As a result of the research, many industries around the world have begun incorporating pomegranates into various health-preserving products, one of which is oil extracted from pomegranate seeds and is also produced in Israel.

A study conducted in 2008, published in The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, found that 100% natural pomegranate juice has antioxidant capabilities twenty times more effective than other natural drinks recommended for preventing oxidation of bad cholesterol, such as red wine and blueberry juice.

The Pomegranate Significantly Improved Blood Flow

A similar study by Prof. Michael Aviram from the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, whose results were published in the European journal Clinical Nutrition, examined and found that consuming 50 ml of pomegranate juice daily for three years significantly reduced the oxidation of bad cholesterol among patients with atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Moreover, researchers from the University of Naples in Italy and the University of California published a series of studies in 2006 demonstrating the extensive effects of pomegranate juice in inhibiting the development of cancer cells in the colon, health, and prostate.

The studies showed that in some cases, pomegranate juice even eradicated cancer cells completely.

Pomegranates are also rich in compounds called nitrates, which help improve blood flow in our bodies. A study conducted by researchers from Cleveland University examined 19 runners who were asked to consume one gram of pomegranate seeds about half an hour before training, and the results were dramatic: Tests conducted on all 19 runners showed that within just a week, pomegranate significantly improved their blood flow, they felt fresher and more energetic, and their training achievements were also better.
