#VALUE!
Proper nutrition habits instilled from a young age become a blessed routine over the years, and the earlier they are started, the better off one will be.
Doctors warn that these four habits many of us have adopted after meals are detrimental to our health, and we should steer clear of them as we would avoid a burning field.
The First Bad Habit: Don't Drink Tea!
Many people tend to relax with a cup of tea immediately after a meal, but studies have shown that tea contains tannic acid, which hinders the absorption of iron and proteins when consumed right after eating. Consequently, regardless of how healthy your meal is, its benefits are lost if absorption is not proper.
The Second Bad Habit: Avoid Fruits
Many people like to finish their meal with a fruit, but the truth is, if you're going to eat fruits, it's better to consume them before a meal rather than after.
The Third Bad Habit: Don't Succumb to Immediate Sleep
Researchers from the University of Greece investigated and found that sleeping right after a meal often leads to insomnia and poor sleep patterns. They recommend waiting at least two hours after a meal, as it also reduces the risk of stroke.
The Fourth Bad Habit: Delay the Shower
Never, ever, be tempted to shower immediately after a meal. In case you didn't know, water flowing over our bodies right after eating interferes with the digestive system's proper functioning and can lead to stomach pains and other unpleasant 'side effects.' The same applies to swimming or other physical activities right after eating.
