When Dr. Mark Sandomirsky, a psychiatrist from Russia, shared this advice in one of his articles, he did not expect it to go viral across multiple languages. Dr. Sandomirsky specializes in treating various mental health issues through pressing different points on the ear.

In his lectures, he frequently discusses stress, anxiety, and even deeper psychological pain that manifests in various physical ailments. According to him, he uses an ear point known in Chinese medicine as 'Shen-Men' or, loosely translated, 'The Gate of Heaven'. Pressing this point releases a burst of positive energy in the body, which, according to the Chinese, not only releases stress but is also highly effective in treating addictions and various inflammations.

How to treat it?

Dr. Sandomirsky recommends massaging the point using a cotton-tipped swab while taking deep and slow breaths. "When you exhale, look to the right, and when you inhale - look to the left." He claims that this method has been proven in several studies to reduce stress and 'obliterate' destructive emotions and thoughts. He calls his method 'Psycho-Reflexology' and claims it relieves tension 'in an unbelievable way'.
