The Australian Blogger Who Eats 51 Bananas a Day: "I Know It Sounds Crazy"

An Australian fitness and health blogger named Leanne Ratcliffe underwent a crazy transformation that she proudly shared with her 400,000 followers: she decided to embark on her own special diet that includes 51 (!) bananas and two kilograms of potatoes per day!!! The controversial blogger was criticized by various sources who informed her that she was endangering her health, but she was determined. "I was definitely unhappy with how I looked," she wrote on her blog alongside a before-and-after photo showing her dramatic weight loss. 

Her vegan diet, primarily consisting of fruits, came after trying the Paleo diet, which involves eating a lot of animal-based food. "That diet caused me major health problems like acid reflux, thyroid issues, irritable bowel syndrome, and more."

Only half a year since the 'Banana Girl' decided to change her diet, she has already lost 18 kilograms and claims she is truly happy today. "I know 51 bananas a day sounds crazy, but even if it sounds extreme, you'd be surprised that it's the key to gut health and a lean body. This lifestyle saved my life, and I'm glad that today I'm helping many other people learn and apply it, and save their lives," she said. 

The Banana Girl often eats a cooked meal, but only after 4 p.m. She usually bakes the potatoes in the oven or adds other fruits to the bananas. "In the past, I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia, and I never knew how to 'eat' my fat and be truly happy. Today, I feel I have control over what goes into my mouth, and it's an unparalleled feeling. All the issues I had before this diet have been resolved, and I wish for anyone suffering from similar problems and low self-image to have the transformation I experienced and continue to experience."
