Tip One
To break your fast in a healthy and non-harmful way, start by drinking a glass of sweetened beverage, preferably at room temperature. During the fast, blood sugar levels drop significantly, and therefore the body 'demands' the sugar level it is accustomed to - that is, a relatively high level (although it can also adapt to functioning at a lower sugar level, provided it is temporary and not permanent). Drink small amounts, and do so moderately.
Tip Two
Eat a small slice of bread with honey or jam, and if available, you can also have a sweet health cookie. Although the body knows how to 'recalibrate' itself and regain the insulin level necessary for proper functioning, it is advisable to feed it sweet foods gradually to help it 'digest' what is happening inside.
Tip Three
Wait an hour and then eat a light meal such as bread with cheese, tuna, eggs, salads, etc. One of the more important conditions for our health is to chew food slowly and thoroughly - especially remember this after fasting.
