Grapefruit or Not to Be
Grapefruit has a cool essence, is especially juicy, excellent for digestion, healthy for the intestines, and packed with vitamins. And that's not all.

The grapefruit is one of the many citrus fruits and was first discovered in the West Indies. Citrus fruits were brought to our land about two hundred years ago, but significant growth occurred only after the establishment of the state. Since then, there have been many developments and plantings of various strains, as well as different grafts of citrus species. Today, the citrus industry is very important in agriculture, with most of its production being exported worldwide.
Grapefruit lasts relatively long compared to other fruits, even without refrigeration.
Grapefruit has a cool essence, is especially juicy, excellent for digestion, and healthy for the intestines. It is packed with many vitamins, particularly vitamin C. Eating grapefruit, like eating other citrus fruits, helps prevent colds and has disinfectant properties that eliminate toxins and waste from the body. Factory and production workers who inhale dust and industrial waste are advised to consume plenty of citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit.
Studies have found that drinking a glass of grapefruit juice a day can mitigate flu symptoms, help prevent cancerous tumors in the lungs and colon, is recommended for smokers, and may even help prevent heart diseases and lower insulin levels in the blood.
Additionally, it has been proven that adding grapefruit to the dietary menu is very effective for weight watchers, helping maintain stable weight without fluctuations.
However, attention should be paid to the disadvantages of grapefruit. Grapefruit juice contains unique components (not found in other citrus fruits) that inhibit the action of enzymes in the intestine, leading to side effects. Therefore, people taking medications should consult a doctor regarding the consumption of grapefruit juice concurrently.
Grapefruit is slightly bitter, and some eat it with sugar, but it is preferable to get used to its natural taste and eat it without sugar, as sugar cancels out some of its beneficial properties. In citrus peels, including grapefruit, as well as in the leaves and bark of the tree, natural oils are present. Wineries and cosmetic industries use it as a blend in their products.
The blessing for grapefruit is: "Borei Pri Ha'etz" (Creator of the Fruit of the Tree).
