How to bring joy to a bride and groom?
It is a great mitzvah to bring joy to a bride and groom, and one who brings joy to a bride and groom merits Torah [Brachot 6b], and this mitzvah applies throughout the seven days of celebration.
How does one bring them joy? Guests should dance to make the groom happy, and a Torah scholar honors them by attending their celebration, even if he does not dance [Sova Smachot].
Is the groom obligated to hold a large and respectable feast?
The groom is obligated to arrange a respectable feast in honor of his wedding according to his honor and her honor and cannot cancel it [Yalkut Yosef, p. 297].
