Is it permissible to hire a babysitter to watch a nine-year-old boy?
It is forbidden to hire a female babysitter to watch a boy over the age of nine, and similarly, a male babysitter should not watch a girl over the age of three. If there are other children in the home between the ages of five and nine, they are considered as guardians, and there is no concern for seclusion (yichud). Additionally, if keys are given to two neighbors and the babysitter is informed that these neighbors may enter at any time, there is no concern for the prohibition of yichud [Yalkut Yosef, Section 22].
Is there a prohibition of yichud in an elevator?
In an electric elevator where the travel time is less than three minutes, it is permitted to be alone with a woman, especially if her husband is in the city. However, if the woman is dressed immodestly, it is appropriate not to enter the elevator with her. [ibid]
