What is permitted to eat in the final meal before the fast?
On the eve of Tisha B'Av, during the final meal (seudah mafseket), a person should not eat two cooked dishes [Taanit 26b].
Even when cooking the same type of food, one soft and one hard, such as a hard-boiled egg and a soft-boiled egg - they are considered two separate cooked dishes. Similarly, if one cooks two foods in the same pot that are not typically cooked together, it is forbidden.
Is it permitted to eat pickled olives or cucumbers in the final meal?
Pickled vegetables are permitted to be eaten along with a cooked dish, because anything that can be eaten raw is not subject to the rules of cooking for the final meal, and pickling may not be considered cooking for this purpose [Chazon Ovadia p. 255].
