The Letter He: A Sequence of Creation, Giving, and Receiving

As mentioned above, the letter He expresses the unique, and therefore all words used to indicate a distinct person or group, such as: he, she, they; start with the letter He (although this is all in the third person. But parallel words in the second person, such as: you (m), you (f), you (pl. m), you (pl. f), start with the letter Aleph, hinting at the soul, because it is the essence of a person, and the direct address directed at it is of greater and central importance than the focusing meaning of the letter He). Emphasizing something also occurs by adding the definite article He to the beginning of the word.

However, due to the letter's uniqueness, there are almost no nouns in the holy language that begin with the letter He, except for entities that stand out distinctly, such as 'mountain' (Hebrew: har), a word that means a special elevation (He) above the ground, like a head (Resh).

In summary, the root of the special ability to bring potential into action, such as childbirth and sustenance, lies in the letter He. This letter is also unique in its subtlety and is the root of feminine traits. Therefore it is considered "the most beautiful among women," the most special among all letters whose trait is the root of the female. This letter appears twice in Hashem's name and is unique in that it also has a protective attribute.

The Meaning of the Sequence of the First Five Letters Aleph-Bet-Gimel-Dalet-He

Now, after studying the first five letters, we can observe their meaning in sequence:

The Creator (letter Aleph) created creation (letter Bet) composed and constructed (letter Bet) of divided opposites (letter Bet) which are givers (Gimel) and receivers (Dalet). Through this system (of division, giving, and receiving) the universe emerged from potential to actual (He).

This happened because the Creator illuminated His light (Aleph), and a spiritual world appeared which was divided (Bet) and further illuminated (Gimel) until the appearance of the world beneath it (Dalet), which also split and further illuminated, until the evolution and emergence of the material universe, in a manner of birth (He).

Of course, it is simple and unnecessary to state that the concept of giving and receiving pertains only to the created worlds, where each world receives from the one above it and gives to the next level. But all begins with receiving from the infinite light, which is the sole all-giver.

The Letter He in a Person's Name

In light of what is explained above regarding the secret of the letter He, when this special letter appears in a person's name, especially if it is at the beginning of their name, they receive through the three spiritual abundance channels flowing in it (in its form, number, and pronunciation) a gentleness of spirit, and a unique ability to bring potential into action in various fields. They can activate and realize hidden powers within them, emerge from difficult situations, rectify negative traits more easily than others, and succeed in everything related to fertility and blessing - both in childbirth and in sustenance. By nature, they possess noble gentleness, pleasant manners, softness in various areas, flexibility in decisions, and consequently are likable in society. Provided they do not spoil their natural traits by exposing themselves to blatant negative behavior, and they should be wary of corrupted companions. For their gentleness of spirit causes them to be more susceptible to positive or negative influence than others, and they find it difficult to refuse even when it concerns a proposal that is not good.

Likewise, the letter He's power in a person can cause them to talk excessively, to the point where they may find themselves speaking unnecessary and even forbidden words. However, through self-work and self-control, they can use their speech talent for good: succeed in giving clear and correct explanations to students, for example, and elevate their entire surroundings with true messages spoken in pleasant conversation.

It follows then that if they choose to activate the mental tools they received in each field in a good and honest way, they will achieve amazing success both family-wise - in marriage and childbirth, socially and economically.

However, on the other hand, through the power of choice given to humans, they might direct the illumination power of the letter He in their name towards a negative path. Therefore, they must be cautious that this gentle letter does not lead them to excessive softness and weakness - especially regarding emotional feelings. They might also feel, unjustly, dissatisfaction with those around them and even with themselves, and come to them (and themselves...) with excessive demands. Also, the power to bring potential into action in the letter He might lead them to constantly wish to begin new initiatives, while the previous mission is not yet complete.

A fundamental rule is that every spiritual root can sprout positive or negative actions. The power of choice is in man's hands, as explained in more detail in the chapter about a person's name.

If they discover a negative influence in themselves from those listed here, they should conduct a personal account with themselves and consider the correct and good balance to live by, and aim to reach it through inner spiritual work, which will bring them - despite their gentleness - to recognize their virtues and abilities, knowing that these are nothing but gifts bestowed upon them by the Creator. And when they recognize their virtues, their soul will strengthen and rejoice in the beneficial and good actions they do, they will set for themselves rules and criteria to behave by in their actions, words, and even thoughts - according to the Creator's instructions in His Torah. However, to succeed properly in all this, they should schedule time to learn Torah and ethics daily from a God-fearing and virtuous scholar. This way, they will rise and succeed and direct the wonderful traits they received on a good and beneficial path.
