Essential laws for navigating the Three Weeks period with clarity and observance

If one recites a blessing on a new fruit during Bein HaMetzarim and immediately remembers it is a new fruit, how should they proceed?

If during Bein HaMetzarim (the Three Weeks) one forgets that a fruit is new, mistakenly recites the usual blessing on weekdays, and then remembers before tasting that it is a new fruit, one should recite "Shehecheyanu" and then eat the fruit [Yalkut Yosef Siman 551, Yabia Omer 2, 5].

If one mistakenly tastes a new fruit during Bein HaMetzarim, may they continue eating it?

One who mistakenly tastes a new fruit during Bein HaMetzarim without reciting "Shehecheyanu" should not continue eating more of it. After Tisha B'Av, they should recite "Shehecheyanu" over a different new fruit, with the intention to include the previously tasted fruit as well [Yalkut Yosef Siman 551].
