Proof That God Exists: How the Laws of Nature Reveal a Creator
Why the universe’s precision, order, and sustaining forces show evidence of a divine Creator

A common proof for the existence of God and His creation of the world is that the universe is so intelligent and complex that it could not possibly have created itself. How do we respond howeverm to those who say that the universe is sophisticated and “wise” simply because it had millions of years to evolve into its current state. According to this view, all the wisdom and complexity we see today arose on its own, slowly, as the world refined and “corrected” itself over time — beginning in a primitive form and eventually reaching the highly advanced universe we know today.
The Case for Design Over Randomness
Every development, change, or event in the universe is determined by the laws of nature that were present from the very beginning.
If the universe were random, it could not distinguish between chaos and order. Randomness produces only confusion. For example, if you spilled ink on the floor, the ink would never arrange itself into words and sentences, because nothing in randomness directs it toward order.
Our universe, however, resembles a computer running a program that was written in advance. We see different stages and presentations, but all of them were determined beforehand by the underlying “code”. From its very first moment, the universe has operated according to specific laws of nature.
The Universe Runs on Laws, Not Chance
When matter always behaves in the same way, we call it a law. This consistency shows that something compels matter to act in a defined, predictable pattern.
In our universe, we see laws. We have the law of gravity, the electromagnetic force, the strong and weak nuclear forces within atoms, and so on. These laws are concrete realities, because all of nature consistently behaves according to them.
This lawfulness is itself proof that the universe is governed by a power that directs it to act in one way rather than another. From the laws we observe, we can conclude that this governing power extends everywhere, across all space and time.
Because the governing force is able to control matter, it cannot itself be material. This is additional evidence that the universe is ruled by a transcendent, immaterial Creator.
Without Laws, Nothing Would Exist
Without these laws, the universe would collapse into nothingness. Coordinated forces hold atoms together, and without them, particles would scatter and the universe would be empty. Electrical forces bind molecules and atoms, and without them, not even a single piece of matter could exist. Gravity holds celestial bodies like the sun, earth, and moon in interaction, and without it, they would scatter randomly with no structure, balance, or possibility for life.
The very force that governs the universe is also the force that sustains it. Without this continuous sustaining power, the universe would dissolve into emptiness and darkness.
This leads us to a critical insight: the One who governs the universe is also the One who created it, since He sustains its very existence at every moment. The laws of nature point to a Creator whose power maintains reality itself. Without His constant support, the universe would fall into absolute chaos. This is yet another proof of the existence of God, the One who rules and sustains all of creation.
