Over the years, we've heard many theories on how to live well, but when a 90-year-old woman speaks, it's worth listening. In an interview published on the Zest.Science app, run by doctors and based on research, the woman, whose name was not disclosed, shared insights she's gathered over decades - little insights that make up a whole life. Here are eight tips to help you, especially in old age.

She recommends moving every day, even if it's just small movements, stretches while brushing your teeth, or squats - a strength exercise to strengthen the leg and core muscles. The exercise mimics the motion of sitting and standing and is usually performed with body weight or dumbbells. For her, daily movement is like moisturizer for the soul. When she talks about food, she doesn't talk about dieting, but about listening to the body: "Stop eating when you feel full, not when your clothes are tight."

Her sense of humor remains sharp: "Laugh at yourself, and don't stop. I've fallen many times, so I just keep going." She shares that everyone should have a reason to get up in the morning - even if it's just a phone call with a grandchild, gardening, or a good book.

One of her simplest yet most important recommendations is to sleep well - not out of laziness, but as a daily recovery: "It's not a luxury - it's the body's work." Additionally, she emphasizes the importance of curiosity: "The world is changing all the time, better to ask questions than to complain."

Perhaps most important of all - the people around you. According to her, human connections are what truly sustain us: "Loneliness ages us more than anything else." Finally, she reminds us that over time you understand that not everything is so serious. "Laugh, love, let go - that's the secret to a long, and happy, life," she concludes.
