Aragon shared that it all began with a school competition in March 2024, where students were invited to memorize as many digits of the mathematical constant as possible. "In March 2024, my school organized an exciting competition with a surprising prize: the opportunity to throw a pie at the principal's face," he told the Guinness website.

Aragon won the competition after successfully reciting 150 digits of Pi. Even after achieving his prize and throwing a pie at the principal, he didn't stop there and continued honing his skills.

Now, with a new record of 280 decimal places in one minute, Alberto has secured a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records and has become an inspiration for math enthusiasts worldwide. Pi Day is named after the first three digits of the mathematical constant Pi: 3.14. However, Pi is a number with an infinite number of digits.

Among other records broken this year, the creation of the largest pie stands out. A group of bakers from Ohio, USA, made an apple pie weighing 20,000 kilograms, spanning an area of 1,200 square meters. The massive pie was cut into 10,000 servings, which were distributed to visitors and those in need in the local community.

In Japan, a group of students managed to create the longest chain of Pi digits, presenting 100,000 accurate digits (though they did not memorize them, of course). The project, which lasted about a year, involved advanced technology and repeated testing to ensure maximum accuracy.
