Since October 7, Jewish-American comedian Michael Rapaport has become a pro-Israel advocate on social media among his non-Jewish friends.
However, amidst all the support he receives, there are also many voices wishing to silence him so he doesn’t promote Israel’s voice worldwide. One such voice is Heather McPherson, a member of the Democratic Party of Canada, who called on the Canadian government to cancel all of Rapaport’s performances in the country.
Because Rapaport supports his people, McPherson found this upsetting, accusing his actions of being a "series of Islamophobic talks."
McPherson is known for her staunchly anti-Israel position, advocating for Muslims in her country by suggesting to the Canadian Prime Minister to recognize only a Palestinian state without negotiating with Israel. In a series of tweets on Twitter, she wrote that "Rapaport has a significant criminal past and a long history of racist and Islamophobic remarks, inciting violence and supporting terrorism," accusing him of hatred towards Muslims.
