Gilad Nitzan, a fighter in the Givati Brigade and a student at Avi Noam Yeshiva in Aviatar, fell in battle during the 'Iron Swords' war, just weeks after his enlistment.
Recently, his parents discovered the emotional will he left on his phone, in the form of a recording, surprisingly only a few days before he fell. "May all my savings go to Torah study and the settlement of the Land of Israel - because that's the most important thing in the world."
His surprised parents, Yaakov and Yehudit, shared that they approached his yeshiva head in Aviatar, informed him of the will, and asked to transfer all his savings precisely for this purpose. "Gilad was one of our most outstanding and dedicated students at the yeshiva, always striving for accuracy and progress," says the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi David Ameti. "He would delve into learning, question himself, explore his path, and attempt to understand if he was acting correctly."
The yeshiva's CEO, Elisaf Parshan, said that the peers at the yeshiva were moved by the important mission and approached it with reverence. "We felt it was a mission because Gilad believed in this connection between Torah study and building the land. That's exactly what we do here in Aviatar."
