Following her support for Hamas in the massacre and being accused of incitement to murder, Israeli Arab actress Maisa Abd Elhadi has recanted her statements.
In an interview with the French newspaper 'Le Monde,' Abd Elhadi expressed regret for the videos she shared on social media and for the caption that led to her arrest. "I quickly regretted my impulsive actions, but it was already too late," she says.
As recalled, Abd Elhadi was arrested for investigation following posts where she expressed support for the massacre carried out by militants in the Gaza border communities, Sderot, and the Nova festival. Among other things, she mocked an elderly woman who was kidnapped to Gaza, writing "Let's go Berlin Style."
Following her arrest, her representation agency refused further association with her, and various content of hers was removed from social media after charges were filed against her. Concurrently, the Nazareth Magistrate's Court released her from house arrest, where she had been since her initial arrest, but continues to restrict her social media usage.
