Katz Asher is 34 and resides in the Sharon area. She was kidnapped along with her daughters, Raz, 5, and Aviv, 3, from Kibbutz Nir Oz. On that tragic day, she lost her mother, Efrat, who was killed in the attack, and her brother, Ravid, who was murdered by Hamas terrorists. Her mother's partner, Gadi Moses, was also kidnapped and is still held captive in Gaza. Recently, Shani Goren, one of the hostages who returned from Hamas captivity, shared that she encountered members of Doron's family, who were kidnapped to Gaza. "The terrorist led us between the burnt bodies of the kibbutz," she said, "and I saw that Nir Oz was no more." During a failed escape attempt, Shani was hit by shrapnel and evacuated with the other hostages to Gaza, where she remained in captivity for 16 days, among hostages including children and women from the kibbutz. One of the most shocking moments for me was when Doron's young daughter said, 'I thought there were only bad guys in movies.'"
