Zeev Revach on the Stroke He Endured: "I Survived by a Miracle. I Thanked God That It Was Only This"

About a year ago, when actor Zeev Revach was planning a trip to Greece with his family, he never imagined his life was about to change drastically.

It was three in the morning, and the taxi that was supposed to take them to the airport was already waiting outside the house. His wife, Mali, and he went down the stairs of their home, when suddenly Zeev stopped and said to his wife Mali: "I don't feel well, I want to see a doctor. Cancel the taxi."

In an interview with 'Ynet', the couple shared for the first time how the situation snowballed at an unimaginable speed and caught them unprepared. "He told me he felt something in his hand. We thought maybe he slept on it, and then we realized. I called the children and said 'stop everything, we need to take him to the hospital immediately'," Mali recalls.

Only when they arrived at the hospital did it become clear that Zeev's intuition was correct, warning him of danger: The doctors diagnosed he suffered a stroke, which could have been much worse had he not reached the hospital on time.

"If I had boarded the flight, it would have been much worse. I was aware of what was happening to me all the time, and I thanked God that it was only this. I survived by a miracle," Zeev recalls.

Then began the rehabilitation with speech therapists and physiotherapists, during which Revach still experienced dizziness and days when he didn’t feel well "but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. I didn’t have difficulty speaking, functionally I was fine".

When asked if he was afraid, Revach responded negatively and added: "I always thanked that it was only this, that I could control everything. I'm optimistic, I'm sure I'll return to work - there's no doubt."
