Attorney Dovi Weinrot described how he and his children marked the birthday of the late Chani. "Today is the 22nd of Shvat, Chani's birthday," Dovi wrote on his Facebook page. "My sweet children asked to do something good on this date, and I agreed. So they didn't go to school, I didn't go to work, we traveled to the Western Wall, ate at a great restaurant, and ended with a walk in the park."

"At the entrance to the Western Wall, we were stopped by three police officers, led by a policewoman who thoroughly checked if the kids in the back were buckled up. Well, they weren't buckled up, and she decided to give me a ticket and fine. To be honest, I have no points at all," Dovi adds and writes. "While the policewoman was writing the ticket, I debated whether to come out and tell her that we're celebrating Chani's birthday and it's kind of ruining the atmosphere, and maybe she should let it go. I discussed it with the kids, and they agreed to make use of the matter."

"I got out of the car towards the policewoman and told her that the children lost their mom a year ago, and we are celebrating her birthday. The ticket kind of ruins our celebrations, so maybe she would let it go."

The policewoman lifted the pen and said to me: 'Oh, why are you telling me this now, after I've finished writing the ticket? I promise you that if you had told me this a few minutes ago, I would have let it go. Now what do we do? I have no way to cancel it,'" Dovi quotes the policewoman.

"I told her it's perfectly fine, and a good thought means a lot, and I signed the ticket. When I got back into the car, I told the kids about the dialogue between me and the policewoman. They said to me: 'Oh dad, you must be really frustrated, if only you had told her two minutes earlier.'"

Weinrot's response to his children highlights the constant faith in Hashem. "I told them I'm not frustrated at all. On the contrary. I love this ticket very much because look: Hashem could have given me this insight two minutes earlier - and He didn’t. It’s a sign that I need to receive 2 points and a 500 shekel fine. And if that's how it was decided for me - I'm connected to this ticket - I have a special connection with it."

"We continued to the Western Wall," concludes Dovi, "and in prayer, I thanked Hashem for the many things I was blessed with and feel lucky to have. I asked for many more good things, not before also thanking Him for the ticket."
