#VALUE!
Many miracles are attributed to our holy kabbalist, Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, blessed memory (the Baba Sali), and among them, an astonishing medical miracle thanks to the Rabbi's blessing has particularly moved us - though it's not a singular story.
This occurred when one day, a special delegation of people in suits and ties entered the Rabbi's house. From their conversations, it was clear they were doctors. The Rabbi's assistant approached one of them while they waited to enter the Rabbi's room, asking the reason for their visit. "Ask the young lady in the corner, she will explain everything," the doctor replied, pointing to a young woman standing in the corner, herself waiting for the Rabbi's blessing.
Rabbi Eliyahu, the Rabbi's assistant, approached the young woman and asked her purpose for coming to see the Rabbi. To his surprise, the young woman asked in return, "What, you don't remember me?".
The assistant tried to recall, but to no avail. "I'm sure when I tell you where you know me from, you'll remember right away," the young woman smiled and added, "Do you remember the girl who came here three months ago in a wheelchair? That's me! I came then to seek the Rabbi's blessing, and today - praise His name forever, I'm standing on my own feet, healthy and whole".
Within Three Months - The Paralysis Was Gone
Rabbi Eliyahu remembered her instantly, for who could forget the young woman who tearfully pleaded for a blessing for healing? "I've been treated for years at 'Beit Loewenstein' hospital in Raanana," she recounted, sobbing. "None of the doctors knew how to cure my paralyzed leg. They tried everything, and no one thought I would ever recover".
What made Rabbi Eliyahu remember her especially was that since she couldn't enter the Rabbi's room, the young woman requested to bring her wheelchair close to the door so she could lean her ear and hear the Rabbi blessing her for complete healing. She deeply moved him, and Rabbi Eliyahu complied with her request - but the young woman didn't stop there.
Even after the Rabbi blessed her and she heard it with her own ears, she urged Rabbi Eliyahu to go back to the Rabbi and ask him to promise her recovery. All the while, she sat by the door, crying without cease. When the Baba Sali heard her request, he equipped his assistant with a special bottle of water and instructed the young woman to soak her paralyzed leg in the water, promising, "If she does so, I assure you she will recover swiftly".
The Doctors Were Amazed: A Miracle Like This They've Never Seen
Her family was touched by the gesture, but soon resumed their routine and did not inquire about the water - whether she followed the Rabbi's words or not. But the young woman did not forget and every day soaked her ailing leg with a little water from the special bottle. Miraculously, against all odds and beyond nature itself, the paralyzed leg healed within three months.
At this, one of the doctors approached Rabbi Eliyahu and said excitedly, "Have you heard her incredible story? We are the doctors from Beit Loewenstein, who treated her for four years, and not one of us believed she had any chance. According to our prognosis, her paralyzed leg not only wasn't supposed to heal, but we expected her upper body to become paralyzed soon after.
"We witness many medical miracles, but a miracle like this we’ve never seen. When we realized that the great miracle was thanks to none other than our Rabbi, the Baba Sali, from whom the young woman received the blessing, we couldn't resist and organized a special delegation of all department doctors who came to behold the holiness of the man who performed such wonders. We too wish to ask him for a blessing," the doctor concluded.
