If the name Uriel Kadosh sounds familiar, it's probably because the beautiful lyrics from his recently released debut single, "Tehillim," resonate with you. Kadosh, 26, a resident of Jerusalem, is currently working on his first album, which he hopes to release soon.

"From a young age, as far back as I can remember, I've been singing," he shares in an interview with the Hidabroot website. "Music is a significant part of my life. I previously released covers of a few songs, but 'Tehillim' is my first original song."

Where did the inspiration for the song and lyrics come from?

"First of all, I am a religious person who observes mitzvot, and I think this is a song that only a believer can truly sing from the heart. When I went through materials for my debut single, I instantly connected with these amazing lyrics written by Rami Lev and the melody composed by Adi Leon. My connection to this song was immediate, and I think you can hear it clearly when I sing. The reactions I've received since the song was released are truly amazing and heartwarming. When you invest your whole self into something you love and see the appreciation and connection from the public, it's very moving."

What styles influence you?

"I grew up with piyyutim, a childhood filled with cantorial songs in the synagogue and neighborhood. My connection is to Mizrahi, Mediterranean music, and that's the style I sing and create in. My musical role model is Eyal Golan. I practically grew up listening to him."

Kadosh shares that his big dream is to continue singing. "I work in a regular job, indeed," he says. "But even when I work, I always aspire to be a singer. My ambition is for all of Israel to know me, to have the privilege to sing and bring joy to many people. I haven't chosen the easy path so far and haven't gone on various singing competitions until now, because I believe in hard work and exposure first. In music, you need a lot of luck and a lot of money, but I believe that patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet. And with Hashem's help, I hope and believe I will succeed." When can we expect to see your debut album?

"With Hashem's blessing, very soon. I'm currently in the working stages, and creating an album naturally takes time, but I hope you'll be able to listen to my album this year."
