Kobi Peretz: I Start My Day with Tefillin
Singer Kobi Peretz: "It's important to me that my children grow up with messages like 'Love thy neighbor as thyself,' respecting parents, tradition, and respecting others. I want them to know how to give and not only receive. Every morning when I put on tefillin, I pray for their health, luck, and that they will walk in the path of righteous and honest people."

This week, singer Kobi Peretz was interviewed by Mako and spoke about his parenting experience ("I'm ready to fight for my children") and his favorite leisure activity ("First thing in the morning - I put on tefillin and spend time in contemplation of the Creator"). Peretz describes himself as a good parent ("To me, I'm 'Father of the Decade'") who invests in his children's education, and nothing is too far or too hard for achieving this noble goal.
"There's nothing I won't do for my children. I'm ready to fight, do, and will do everything for them. I take them to kindergarten, bathe them, attend football practice, go on ATV and horseback riding trips with them - and enjoy every moment".

On the education of his children, Peretz expressed: "It's important to me that they grow up with messages like 'Love thy neighbor as thyself,' respecting parents, tradition, and respecting others. It's important for them to know how to give, not just receive. Every morning, when I put on tefillin, I pray for their health, luck, and that they will follow the path of righteous and honest people.", said Peretz.
When asked what day of the week he loves the most, Peretz gave the expected answer that Friday-Shabbat is his favorite part since it's his chance to spend quality time with family, enjoy his wife's cooking, and visit the synagogue, do Kiddush, etc. "We love hosting, as well as visiting others. Shabbat with family is the greatest pleasure one can have."
His quality time with himself in the little leisure time available between performances is spent mostly in the mornings, which he begins with putting on tefillin and contemplating the Creator. "When I put on tefillin, I am with myself and with Hashem. I feel very connected to the Creator and tradition," he said.
