The writing of a Torah scroll will soon be completed, behind which stands an interesting and significant initiative, primarily addressing women, to give them the opportunity to strengthen the mitzvah of modesty, which has a profound impact on each individual and the Jewish people as a whole.

Behind this wonderful initiative are Rabbi Abramov shlit"a and his wife, Rebbetzin Tehila tichye, who have been involved in family life education for many years. They are writing the Torah scroll in memory of Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt"l, whose will and support led them to the project.

"Rabbi Elyashiv guided us for many years in all our activities," Rabbi Abramov tells Hidabroot. "He often spoke to us about the state of modesty, which has deteriorated from generation to generation. This subject deeply concerned him and caused him great pain, and he encouraged us to do everything possible for this cause."

Indeed, they took action. In addition to the numerous books written by the Rabbi and the Rebbetzin on relationships and peace in the home, they decided to write a book on the topic of modesty among observant Jews. 'The Unique Princess' was "the last book to receive Rabbi Elyashiv's approbation before he passed away.

After his passing, the Rabbi and the Rebbetzin sought to do something in his memory. "We had the idea to write a Torah scroll. But what would make it special? Thus the idea was born: In this Torah scroll, women can dedicate a letter, provided they commit to strengthen or learn something about modesty. We are not dictating what or how to do it. Every woman knows what modesty is, and she will decide for herself how she wishes to strengthen her modesty. B'ezrat Hashem, a large number of people in Israel and abroad wanted to participate in the mitzvah," the Rabbi says with satisfaction and optimism.

"It is not just a saying that we were redeemed and will be redeemed in the merit of women," says Rabbi Abramov. The only place where it is written "And I will turn away from behind you" concerns modesty. Hashem tells the Jewish people, I can tolerate almost anything, but not lack of modesty. This is the only instance where Hashem, who has accompanied us throughout history in every situation, says He would have to leave the Jewish people, Heaven forbid."

"We should not imitate the fashions of Paris and New York," says Rabbi Abramov. "We are a chosen nation - there is uniqueness in us, and that is the message we need to convey to the world. For us, it is not superficial and external things that matter. If we only emphasize externality - we will miss out greatly."
