For cherries, the blessing "borei pri ha'etz" (first blessing) is recited.

After eating, the blessing "borei nefashot" (after-blessing) is recited.

The amount of consumption required to be obligated for an after-blessing (from "Halacha Yomit" from the rulings of Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef ztz"l):

For any food that a person eats, they must recite a "first blessing," such as the blessing "shehakol" or "ha'etz." Even if they eat only a small amount of that food, they are obligated to bless, as long as the intent is to eat for its own sake. (But if the intent is merely to taste in order to adjust the seasoning, then no blessing is necessary for this eating.) Therefore, one who chews flavorful chewing gum, even if they swallow only a very small amount, is still obligated to bless for the enjoyment of the taste of the gum. Similarly, if one drinks something, they must bless even if they intend to drink just a single drop of that beverage.

However, this applies specifically to the first blessing, but an after-blessing is only recited when the food is considered "significant eating," and the measure for significant eating is the measure of a "kezayit," which is twenty-seven grams, and for drinking, the measure is a "revi'it," which is eighty-one grams.

Additionally, the eating or drinking must be within a timeframe so that the eating or drinking combines to be considered together. For example, if someone eats a "kezayit" of bread throughout an entire day, crumb by crumb, they certainly cannot recite the Birkat Hamazon (Grace After Meals) afterward. The eating of a "kezayit" must all occur within the timeframe of "eating a pras," and there's debate among the halachic authorities about how long this is, with some saying five minutes and others about seven and a half minutes (and there are other opinions). Therefore, it is always advisable to eat the measure of a kezayit (especially at Shabbat meals) within four and a half minutes to fulfill all opinions.

Regarding an after-blessing on a drink, one must drink a revi'it of the beverage (which is the measure of eighty-one grams) at once, because if they drank and interrupted between sips, they do not recite an after-blessing at all. Thus, someone who drinks soup with a spoon does not recite an after-blessing for drinking that soup, because they did not drink a revi'it all at once. Similarly, one who drinks coffee or tea when it's hot does not recite an after-blessing, as they cannot drink it all at once.
