A Medical Miracle: Hashem Healed Roxli When Doctors Gave Up

Miracles happen all the time, but when they break every known rule of science, we’re reminded that Hashem is truly in control of everything.

When 11-year-old Roxli Doss from Hays County, Texas, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor, her parents were devastated. The doctors spoke with sadness, explaining that the tumor was called “Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma”—a cancer so dangerous and untreatable that medical journals call it one of the greatest challenges doctors face today. The outlook was grim. The tumor affects basic functions like breathing, swallowing, vision, and speech. There is no known cure. Radiation might slow it down temporarily, but no treatment had ever shown lasting results.

“We were heartbroken,” said Roxli’s parents. “But we knew that while medicine had limits, Hashem does not. So we did the only thing we could—we turned to Him. We prayed with all our hearts.” They opened a public page—not to raise money, but to gather people to say tefillot (prayers) for their daughter.

And then the miracle began.

Less than two weeks after starting radiation, the Doss family went in for another MRI scan. The doctors stared at the images in disbelief: the tumor was gone. Completely gone. They repeated the scan again and again, using every test they could. Still nothing. Roxli’s doctors couldn’t explain it.

“It was absolutely extraordinary,” her physician told the Daily Mail. “In all my years, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Though Roxli still goes for regular follow-up care to make sure the cancer doesn’t return, her parents are filled with gratitude—and certainty.
