The Admor (spiritual leader) of Mevakshei Emunah recently gave an interview to the newspaper HaMevaser, where he opened up about a deeply personal and miraculous chapter in his life. After 32 long years of waiting, he was finally blessed with twin daughters.

“Thirty-two years passed from the day I got married, the 10th of Shevat 5739, until the day Hashem blessed me with children, a pair of beautiful twin girls, on the 12th of Adar II 5771,” the Admor shared. “Those years were filled with longing, constant prayer, and endless pleading before the Creator of the world. Thirty-two years and two months of waiting, hoping, and never giving up.”

“It’s impossible to describe the heartbreak we lived with,” the Admor said honestly. “The sorrow was deep and constant. The hardest part was the quiet danger of giving up and falling into despair. So many people tried to talk us out of continuing to hope. Even doctors, with all their knowledge, gave us little reason to believe. But throughout all those years, we kept davening (praying), hoping, asking for blessings from righteous people, and trying every possible path.”

“After thirty years, I felt like my spirit was beginning to break. But I made a firm decision, I would never allow despair to win. No person, no voice, no challenge would stop me from believing in Hashem’s kindness. I held tightly to the light of faith and reminded myself of a powerful truth: ‘There is no despair in the world at all.’ I remembered what our Sages taught: ‘Even if a sharp sword rests upon a person’s neck, they should not stop themselves from praying for mercy.’ I strengthened myself and made a new commitment to take my prayers to a deeper place. I decided to go every single day to the resting place of Rachel Imeinu (our matriarch) who herself waited many years to have children. I would pour out my heart there and complete the entire book of Tehillim (Psalms) each day.”

“For a full year, I came every morning to Rachel’s Tomb. I said the entire book of Tehillim with a broken heart and tearful voice. I cried to my Father in Heaven, begging for the chance to become a father myself.”

But even after a full year of these heartfelt prayers, the Admor shared, he was tested again, this time by doubts. “The yetzer hara (evil inclination) tried to break my spirit. Thoughts crept into my heart: ‘You’ve been praying for a whole year and nothing has changed. Maybe there’s a heavenly order that can’t be overturned. Why keep going?’”

“But I refused to give in. I strengthened myself once more and decided to keep praying, to keep saying the entire Tehillim at dawn every day, at Mama Rachel’s holy site.”

Then, after another full year of tears and hope, the miracle happened. “On the 12th of Adar II, 5771 Hashem blessed us with twin girls! After 32 years of longing and heartbreak, the salvation finally came.”

From this emotional journey, the Admor says he learned two life-changing lessons he hopes to pass on to anyone seeking their own salvation.

“First, never give up. No matter what you’re going through, you must not despair. You have to hold on tightly to your emunah (faith) in the One who created the world. Hashem has endless power, and He can completely change the natural order if He wants to.”

“And second,” the Admor added with passion, “never underestimate the power of tefillah (prayer). Keep praying again and again. Without prayer, nothing happens. But with sincere prayer, you can awaken incredible miracles. The problem is that many people don’t realize how powerful prayer truly is. As our Sages said: ‘Prayer is one of the things that stands at the heights of the world, yet people treat it lightly’ (Berachot 6b). If people really understood what prayer can do, they would see salvations beyond anything they could imagine.”

The Admor’s words come from a place of deep experience and unwavering faith offering light and strength to anyone waiting, hoping, and praying for their own miracle.
