A Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7 was killed in an airstrike in Gaza last month, the military says it is now able to confirm. The announcement comes after intelligence teams reviewed the results of a series of strikes carried out on November 22.
According to the IDF, the strikes were launched after a Palestinian gunman opened fire on Israeli troops operating in the southern Gaza Strip, violating the ceasefire then in place. In response, it targeted terror infrastructure and terrorists involved in the attacks.
The IDF says that it can now confirm that one of those strikes killed Alaa Khudari, who served as the chief of Islamic Jihad’s elite forces in Gaza City. Military officials describe Khudar as a senior commander responsible for directing assaults on IDF units throughout the war.
On October 7 Khudar invaded Kibbutz Nahal Oz, the army said, adding that he also led additional attacks on soldiers and civilians as the fighting continued. His death removes a key figure linked both to the initial massacre and to later attempts to target Israeli troops inside Gaza.
The military says it is continuing to track remaining Islamic Jihad and Hamas commanders involved in operations against Israel.
