#VALUE!
Everyone experiences different levels of illness, each with their own tendencies. However, a common thread is that most people hold the keys to their own healing:
1. Making an effort in prayer to Hashem – Focusing here first guarantees divine assistance for quicker and greater healing.
2. Improving character traits and embracing joy, the remedy for all ailments—It’s beneficial to focus on mental health and work on traits that lead to peace and joy in life. One story involves Reb Nachman's daughter, who suffered from a toothache. He advised her to get out of bed, dance, and find joy. She followed his advice and was healed ("Sichot HaRan").
3. Enhancing physical health through a healthy lifestyle—This includes nourishing nutrition, detoxification, physical activity, and avoiding pollutants at home and outside.
Unfortunately, health is not taught in most schools during childhood, but fortunately today, short courses and books are available to learn about healing. Daily learning of ethics can improve character traits. Most importantly, establish a connection with Hashem, petitioning for healing and guidance. There is a well-known parable from Reb Nachman of Breslov about a man who dreamed of treasure under a bridge in London. After reaching there and beginning to dig, a guard stopped him, laughed at his story, and shared his own dream of a treasure at a certain person's home. Realizing the guard described his own backyard, the man returned home, dug, and found the treasure.
Take responsibility for your health, because the power is in your hands. Understand that you are often the primary healer for yourself with Hashem’s help. He will guide you and send the right people and circumstances for your healing. The gifts are not under the London bridge; they are within you. Just start digging. "Stop living in poverty! Return to your treasures and make use of them!" (Reb Nachman of Breslov "The Seven Beggars").
